From AI Ambition to Enterprise Execution: What We Heard at ITG Tech Day 2026

AI is rapidly moving from experimentation to an enterprise priority. But turning AI ambition into measurable business value requires more than the right model. It requires the data, applications and infrastructure to work together in real time.

That was the defining theme at ITG Tech Day 2026 in Jakarta, where Managing Director Anthon Danuprasetiyo opened the event by emphasizing that AI ambition alone does not create value. True success requires orchestrating AI, data, applications, workflows, and people into a single connected enterprise.

As a Gold Sponsor, Hazelcast was proud to be part of the conversation and to showcase how real-time data and compute can help organizations build the foundation for intelligent, responsive applications.

Reflecting on the event, three themes stood out to us.

1. AI success starts with connected, accessible data

AI is only as useful as the data and context available to it.

ITG’s opening discussions highlighted the importance of connecting data, applications and business operations to unlock the full potential of AI. For enterprises, that means looking beyond the model itself and considering how information moves through the organization and becomes available to applications and AI systems when decisions need to be made.

Increasingly, those decisions need to happen in real time.

Whether it’s responding to a customer interaction, detecting an anomaly, optimizing a transaction or powering an intelligent application, organizations cannot always afford to rely on data that is minutes or hours old.

Real-time data infrastructure provides the context applications and AI systems need to respond to what is happening now.

2. The next challenge is moving from AI strategy to execution

Enterprise AI strategies are evolving quickly. The harder question to answer is how organizations operationalize those strategies within the systems that are already running their businesses.

Conversations emphasized the shift from AI strategy toward practical execution, governance and business value, with important implications for enterprise architecture.

Moving to execution also requires matching governance to the level of decision risk. Speakers like IT practitioner Onno W. Purbo highlighted that operationalizing AI isn’t an all-or-nothing switch; it requires appropriate levels of human oversight under continuous monitoring.

AI initiatives cannot exist in isolation from the applications, databases and operational systems that support the business. Organizations need infrastructure that can support demanding workloads while delivering the speed, scale and reliability required for production applications.

The companies that ultimately realize the most value from AI may not simply be those with the most ambitious AI roadmaps, but those that can successfully integrate AI into the real-time systems and processes where business decisions are happening.

3. Intelligent applications require a real-time foundation

As enterprises modernize their applications and adopt AI, the technology architecture underneath those experiences becomes increasingly important. Applications are becoming more event-driven. Customer expectations are increasingly immediate. And AI-powered experiences require access to fresh, relevant context.

In real-time decisioning—especially for mission-critical workloads like payments, card authorization, fraud/AML detection, and risk management—every network hop adds latency. Every time data has to travel back and forth between separate services, applications, or databases, it eats away at the available decision window and introduces unnecessary operational complexity.

That’s where Hazelcast comes in. By unifying Data Grid, Stream Processing, and compute within a single runtime platform, Hazelcast eliminates unnecessary round trips, bringing data and processing together to deliver sub-millisecond execution at scale while adhering to local market requirements like data residency and strict regulatory compliance.

Continuing the conversation in Indonesia

For Hazelcast, ITG Tech Day was about more than showcasing technology. It was an opportunity to deepen our presence in Indonesia and connect with the technology leaders shaping the region’s next phase of digital transformation.

Led by Hazelcast’s Rasheed Shaik and Jitender Gahlot, we were proud to participate alongside ITG and fellow ecosystem leaders like Red Hat, Boomi, F5, IBM, and NetSuite. Together, we demonstrated how real-time processing underpins the entire modern enterprise AI stack.

Indonesia is a dynamic and rapidly evolving technology market, and we look forward to continuing these conversations and helping organizations build applications that can respond to the business in real time.
