Building and Managing a High-Performance Microservices Architecture

Faster time-to-market, better fault tolerance, improved scalability—there are many reasons organizations are turning away from monolithic applications and embracing microservices. Breaking down application functionality into bite-sized chunks can yield many advantages in the world of modern application development. This ongoing shift coincides with another indisputable reality of today’s businesses: the demand for real-time data. From transactions to IoT devices, data is not only streaming into organizations at higher volumes and rates of speed, but much of it needs to be acted upon as events occur to deliver any value. To fully realize the benefits of a microservices architecture, new data management approaches that are equally fast and flexible are essential. There are numerous challenges, including increased complexity, data consistency, testing, and monitoring.
