What is the Internet of Things (IoT)?

The Internet of things, the internet of medical things.

These terms describe the vast number of physical devices that are connected to the internet, all collecting event-based information and connecting with other devices that are essentially doing the same thing. These devices have sensors and software that make them intelligent.
Some examples of “devices” are: self-driving cars, smart household goods, and wellness devices

Edge computing is all about collecting this data from wherever it may be, integrating it, canonicalizing it, and applying analytics to determine valuable insights, like patterns of behavior, making recommendations, and predicting problems before they occur.

Some use cases of this are Patient/health monitoring, driver safety, logistics/supply chain management, and smart cities.
