Internet of Things

Hazelcast® is in production as the backend infrastructure of Internet-of-things (IoT) deployments. Everything from in-home thermostats and lighting systems to in-store m-commerce systems.

Internet-of-things (IoT) architectures involve massive numbers of individual data generating subsystems requiring very high throughput of messages and data. Such fast moving components require in-memory data caching technology that is scalable and elastic able to handle surges in usage but also rapidly growing user bases. IoT architectures run from hundreds of thousands to millions of devices, each updating periodically. Hazelcast in-memory data grid can ingest writes at very high-velocity and processes the business logic or complex computation on incoming data in real-time. It also allows write-behind or write-through persistence while batching to a data store such as database.

Hazelcast provides an ideal NoSQL solution to meet demanding service-level requirements of IoT architectures, while at the same time providing great simplicity in configuration, deployment and management making it is easy for customers to build and maintain a next generation IoT system.
